Facility being set up by ITC which is running My Fortune Hotels in Bengaluru,Chennai.

GUNTUR: The first ever five-star hotel in the Capital region of Amaravati will soon come up in Guntur city. The works on the hotel would be formally launched on April 29 and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would be present at the ground-breaking ceremony.

The hotel ‘My Fortune’ will come up in an area of 1.5 acres at Vidya Nagar. The hotel will have 150 rooms besides three restaurants and all other facilities like swimming pool, bar, gym and conference halls. The 12-storeyed facility would be built at a cost of Rs 150 crore and would be the tallest building in Guntur when it comes up.

As of now, the ITC is running My Fortune five star Hotels in Bengaluru and Chennai. The hotel at Guntur would be their third and the first in the AP capital region.

“Due to the lack of a five-star hotel in the city, the denizens are forced to go to Chennai, Bengalore and Hyderabad. We hope that our hotel will fill the vacuum. We expect the VIP inflow to grow exponentially as Guntur would be part of the capital area,” said ITC General Manager P Venkatram Reddy.

He said that the works of the hotel will be completed within three years and will be declared open either by the end of 2018 or in the first quarter of 2019.
