1,000 liquor bottles seized in raids

VISAKHAPATNAM: The City Task Force (CTF) police on Saturday raided illegal liquor outlets at various places and arrested 19 belt shop organisers. The police seized a total of 1,082 liquor bottles worth Rs 2.5 lakh.

According to the CTF police, after credible information, I.Chittibabu, assistant commissioner of police, CTF, constituted two teams with SIs Bhaskara Rao and Satish Kumar conducted special drives on illegal sale of liquor at Adavivaram, Simhachalam, Chinamushidiwada, Pendurthi, Pedagantyada, Appikonda, Sagarnagar, Anandapuram PS limits and Padmanabham PS limits.  The police have arrested a total of 19 belt shopkeepers and seized 1,082 liquor bottles, including 264 beer bottles, all worth Rs 2.56 lakh. An auto-rickshaw was also seized. The arrested persons along with seized property have been handed over to concerned police stations. A case has been registered.
