Nat'l Anthem sung in memory of Tanguturi

VISAKHAPATNAM: The 145th birth anniversary of Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the first chief minister of state, was celebrated in the district at different places. He was a lawyer, writer and statesman. When Simon Commission visited India in 1928 Prakasam jumped into the front and showed his bravery by raising the voice ‘Shoot at me’.

On the occasion, APEPDCL paid tributes to him. MM Nayak, the chairman and managing director of the APEPDCL and the staff were present.  Paying tributes, district collector Pravin Kumar and GVMC commissioner M Hari Narayanan along with Vizag East MLA B Ramkrishna Babu celebrated the day.The birth anniversary was also celebrated at the police commissionerate where police commissioner T Yoganand paid floral tributes to the brave man who fought for the nation.

Following the orders of district education officer MV Krishna Reddy, all the schools in the district sung the national anthem at their respective school premises at 11 am.
