Two-storey building collapses in Kadapa; one injured another trapped

KADAPA: A portion of an old two storyed building at Seven Road Junction in Kadapa town collapsed all of a sudden on Friday afternoon. One person was rescued from the debris and efforts are on to rescue one more trapped there.

A portion of the building housing Sujatha Hotel collapsed at around 1 pm. People ran helter-skelter from the building, only to come back to help.

Fire service personnel along with police rushed to the spot. One person, injured in the incident was taken out of debris and rushed to hospital, where his condition was reported to be safe. Efforts are being made to rescue a middle aged woman trapped in the debris

The building was reported to be 40 years old and at the time of the incident two workers in the hotel were working in the kitchen.
