Chandrababu Naidu forms committee to look into allegations against Ravela

Angry with Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu and Guntur Zilla Parishad chairperson Shaik Jhony Moon for seeking to settle political

VIJAYAWADA/GUNTUR : Angry with Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu and Guntur Zilla Parishad chairperson Shaik Jhony Moon for seeking to settle political scores out in the open and bringing disrepute to the party, Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday constituted a three-member committee, headed by his deputy N China Rajappa, and comprising legislator Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary and party Guntur district unit president G V Anjaneyulu, to inquire into the incident and submit a report to him.

The Chief Minister, after learning that Jhony Moon had said she feared a threat to her life from Ravela Kishore Babu, directed the committee to find out what was going on between the two leaders. Though Ravela denied threatening her, the fact remains that they do not see eye to eye and that over a period of time it has only become worse.

Naidu first called party state president K Kala Venkata Rao and made it clear that this kind of indiscipline was something he would not tolerate. He wanted Kala Venkata Rao to sort out the issue and then constituted a committee.

Even as Naidu was trying to contain the damage, Muslim associations in Guntur took out a procession, demanding stern action against Kishore Babu for threatening to eliminate Jhony Moon. Not to be outdone, supporters of Kishore Babu called a media conference in Guntur where they said Johny Moon and her husband were no pargons of virtue.

Jhony Moon took everyone by surprise on Friday, claiming that Ravela was gunning for her because she had been asking him to take up development works in her Kakumanu Mandal which incidentally happens to be part of Ravela’s Pathipadu constituency. For asking him to sanction funds for works, he had harbored a grudge against her and recently asked his followers to throw stones at her at a function.
Later on, he kept sending his men to her house threatening to liquidate her, she said.
