3 Cops Suspended for Indiscipline

VIJAYAWADA: ity in-charge police commissioner NV Surendra Babu has placed an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and two home guards under suspension for acts of indiscipline.

The ASI suspended was PCH Muralikrishna attached to Penamaluru police station. He was one among the 11 persons arrested in a raid while they were playing cards in Muralnagar on Feb 8.

In another raid on a gambling centre in the limits of the same police station and on the same day, the police arrested 12 persons including home guard Durga Prabhakar working as gardener at Police Commissionerate office. In another incident in the limits of the same police station, home guard M Sivanarayana was suspended for acting indecently with a couple on Yanamalakuduru canal on Feb 7, an official release said.

Siblings Drown in Tank

Ongole: Two sisters were drowned in a recently deepened water tank at Ramireddypalem village in Santhamaguluru mandal of Prakasam district on Wednesday evening. According to Santhamagulur sub-inspector N Raghavarao, Aswani (9) and Prameela (6), daughters of Gunji Rama Rao, were filling water in a bottle from the tank when they slipped and fell into it. Their bodies were found by a boy who went to the tank in the evening and broke the news to their parents. The police registered a case and are investigating.
