Float Fest of Lord Govindaraja Begins

TIRUPATI: The annual float festival of the famous Lord Govindaraja Swamy commenced on a religious note in the holy temple tank, in Tirupati, on Tuesday evening. The seven-day religious fete will be conducted from February 16 to February 22. On the first day evening, the processional deities Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy, Sita Devi, Lakshmana Swamy and Anjaneya took celestial ride for five times in the sacred waters of temple tank on the finely decked float. In a press release issued here, Temple officials said, while on the second day, i.e, on February 17, Sri Parthasaradhi Swamy will take five rounds, and the same will be performed for Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy on February 18. The Sri Krishna Swamy Varu who takes a celestial ride along with Andal Ammavaru on February 19.
