Harassed by Classmate, Teenager Commits Suicide

ANANTAPUR:Feeling depressed, a 15-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan with a dupatta at her home, on Tuesday evening. The deceased was identified as Nasrin, daughter of G Baba Jaan and resident of Dwaraka Vilas of Anantapur town.

According to the police, for the last couple of months, the girl was being harassed by her classmate, Gautam, where he was harassing her to accept his love proposal. Both are students of Class X at Kesava Reddy School of Maruthinagar.

In spite of several warnings, he continued to torture her and she told her parents about the issue. Girl’s father, Baba Jaan, brought the issue to the notice of concerned school authorities, but in vain. Feeling depressed, she committed suicide at her home. The victim’s body was shifted to local GH for autopsy.‘’May be the incident took place around at 8 pm. As per the info given by the girl’s parents, Nasrin would have committed suicide as she was unable bear the torture from the boy,’’ said CI S Subakumar who is investigating the case.
