VISAKHAPATNAM: The Women in Public Sector (WIPS) of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant bagged the Best Enterprise award in the “Maharatna and Navratna” category for the year 2015 in recognition of their commendable service, participation, involvement and achievements in their professional and personal front.
Chairman-cum-managing director, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), P Madhusudan congratulated the WIPS management committee members on Tuesday.
Director (Personnel) GBS Prasad and general manager (HR) and WIPS president T Sunder and members of the managing committee received the award from National Commission for Women chairperson Lalitha Kumaramangalam at the 26th national convention of Forum of Women in Public Sector held in association with SCOPE in Chennai.
The award, instituted by the Central APEX Forum of WIPS in 1992, is presented annually to selected PSUs in recognition of the finest efforts made to harness the growth and development of Women in PSUs.
Meanwhile, assistant general manager (QA and TD), VSP, G Seshamma won the second Best Achiever Award in individual category for her distinguished performance last year.
