Students Make a Beeline to Science Express in Guntur

GUNTUR:  Hundreds of students made a beeline to the Guntur Railway Station to visit the state-of-the-art exhibition aboard the ‘Science Express-Climate Action Special (SECAS)’, here on Wednesday.

The Science Express stationed on the Platform No. 7 will be open for public view until Friday evening and will depart to Zaheerabad in Telangana State on the same night.

Created with the solo objective to raise awareness among students about adverse climatic changes and the steps required for combating the same, the 16 coaches SECAS contains science exhibits along with experts and volunteers to explain about the exhibits.

Immediately after the Guntur Divisional Railway Manager Vijay Sharma formally inaugurated the exhibition, hundreds of students from different educational institutes stepped into the Science Express and went through the coaches to view the exhibits. Standing in queue-lines with much discipline, the students eagerly waited for their turn to learn about the exhibits and also noted down valuable information provided by the experts.

“I was very much delighted after having a glimpse of Science Express. Though, I participated in some exhibitions at district and state-levels, the experience of exhibits put for display in the Science Express are completely awesome,” said a student Vikranth.

Stating that the Science Express attracted huge crowds, predominantly students, railway officials said that as many as 12,683 persons visited the exhibition on wheels on the first day.
