HYDERABAD:  Amidst ruling TDP’s claims in Andhra Pradesh that several YSRC MLAs are ready to join the yellow party, YSRC boss and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Wednesday, made a sensational attack, saying, “When the time comes, I will let you know about the number of TDP MLAs who are ready to sail with us. We will overthrow the State government.”

Jagan made this comment when scribes wanted to know whether it was true that as many as 21 MLAs of the TDP were in touch with him. “Some of the TDP MLAs are contacting us. I won’t reveal their number. When the number reaches the required figure to overthrow the government, we will make it public,” the YSRC chief said.

Speaking to media after calling on Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan here, Jagan threw the gauntlet to Chief Minister N Chandrababu asking him whether the latter was ready to seek people’s mandate again.

Ridiculing the claim of some of the TDP leaders that several YSRC MLAs are ready to join the ruling party, Jagan said: “The yellow party had been resorting to this propaganda for some time. But, till now no MLA from our party has gone to the TDP. In fact, TDP is a sinking boat as all sections of people in the State are fed up with Naidu’s anti-people regime. Then, how come anybody will think of joining the sinking TDP?”

When asked about the number of MLAs who are still with the YSRC, he said “We have 67 MLAs. Our legislators are intact.”

“During the recent  Cabinet meeting, Naidu asked his ministers to take their cue from Telangana ministers KTR and Harish Rao in engineering defections from the Opposition. Will any chief minister do such a thing? That’s why I am challenging Naidu to go for snap polls,’’ Jagan asked.
