7-year-old Missing Girl Found Dead in AP

A seven-year-old girl who was missing since Wednesday, was found dead in an agricultural canal at Chadalawada of Peddapuram mandal in East Godavari district.

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: A seven-year-old girl who was missing since Wednesday, was found dead in an agricultural canal at Chadalawada of Peddapuram mandal in East Godavari district on Monday. The body has been sent for postmortem.

The police said that Poojitha of Velagapudi in Krishna district, along with her parents came to Chadalwada to attend a family function two days ago. On Wednesday, she reportedly went to a nearby shop to purchase chocolates but did not return. The family members launched a search for her in the night but in vain. Later, a police complaint was lodged.

The family members suspected that the girl was kidnapped but did not receive any ransom calls till Monday morning when the girl was found dead. The police said that some unidentified persons were found moving suspiciously in the village as informed by the villagers. The police said that they are investigating all aspects to trace out the kidnappers.
