HYDERABAD: The AP Government has informed the HC that it has constituted a commission headed by Justice Manjunatha, retired judge, on the issue of inclusion of Kapu, Telaga, Balija and Ontari communities in the list of BCs. Justice PV Sanjay Kumar was hearing a petition filed by Dr KVK Rao, chairman of Kapu Reservations Porata Samithi, and Ch Venkata Rayudu of West Godavari.
The petitioners said that the Kapu, Balija, Telaga and Ontari communities were grouped as one class under broad category of Telaga and were included in backward communities list in 1915 and were ontinued as backward classes from 1915 to 1956.
The judge posted the matter after two weeks for further hearing.
