Andhra Assembly Session From March 5

VIJAYAWADA:  The budget session of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly will commence on March 5 and the budget would be presented on March 10, finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said.

Addressing the sixth edition of the Collectors’ Conference in Vijayawada on Monday, he said they had fixed the growth rate target of 15 percent for the next financial year (2016-17).

Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the state in the current fiscal, finance minister said expenditure was more than planned budget in the current fiscal, which is a positive trend for economic growth. “Previously, it was more allocations and less expenditure. Some departments have spent more than they were allocated and some have not spent the funds they were allotted,” he pointed out.

Deputy chief minister KE Krishnamurthy, who also holds revenue portfolio, said the progress and development was only possible when everyone cooperates and contributes.
