VIJAYAWADA: A 31-year-old woman had allegedly committed suicide in Chittinagar under Two Town police station limits in the city on Sunday by hanging herself.
Bathini Chandramma, wife of B Veerababu, who runs a wholesale paper shop in the city was found hanging in the house by locals, who went to check the house after being alerted by Chandramma’s parents that she was not answering their calls.
According to the police, parents of Chandramma were told by Veerababu that he had a quarrel with her and was leaving the house with their two children. After they failed to contact Chandramma, they alerted the locals who informed about the death. The parents rushed to the spot.
While the parents claim that Veerababu had murdered Chandramma and tried to make it look like a suicide, police say the evidence at the scene of crime indicates it could be suicide. However, the real cause of death will be known only after postmortem report is submitted to them, they said. A case has been registered and investigation is under progress.
