VIJAYAWADA: The headmasters and teachers of Urdu medium schools in Vijayawada had a bitter experience on Thursday when they were insulted and their belongings were locked in a classroom at Patamata ZP High School.

Every year, they used to collect textbooks from a government school in Labbipet for distribution among the students of their respective schools. This year, they were told to collect the books from Patamata ZP High School where the officials don’t know Urdu. When the teachers misplaced the books and sought the help of school officials, the latter behaved rudely with the teachers.

Offended with the ill-treatment, the victims lodged a complaint with the higher officials in education department and demanded for the of supply of textbooks from Labbipet school immediately.
