VISAKHAPATNAM : A WEEK after the death of a pavement- dweller on the Assilmetta flyover, the Two Town police arrested the main accused, naval officer Chinmayi Talwalkar, here on Monday. The police arrested the officer under Section 304 of IPC and he was sent to remand on Monday. The officer, Chinamayi Talwalkar, along with two others, ran over Janardhan (20), who was sleeping on the road divider, killing him on the spot.
In the breath analyser test, the officer recorded 18 counts. However the permissible limit was 29. The blood sample of the officer was also sent to the Regional Forensic Laboratory for testing. However, the report is yet to be received. The case took a twist as when N Mattayya, a person from Srikakulam district, approached the Two Town police three days after the body was buried at Gnanapuram, claiming that the deceased belonged to his family.
