'Skill development prog for Muslim youth'

GUNTUR: The TDP government is committed to the welfare of Muslims and stood as the single state to distribute ‘Ramzan Tohfa’ to the Muslim families, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said.

Participating in the Iftar dinner organised by the government here on Friday, he reiterated that his government was giving priority to protecting the assets of the minorities and would work for the development of the Muslims.

Calling upon the youth to concentrate on education, he said, the TDP government first recognised Urdu language as AP’s second official language and promised to promote Urdu in 13 districts of the state. “Apart from Urdu, you should also give priority for learning Telugu and English, to avail employment opportunities across the world,” he said.

The government will soon start skill development programme for Muslim youth. The TDP government constructed the Haj House in Hyderabad to provide direct connectivity to Jeddah. Now, Haj Houses are being constructed in Kadapa and Vijayawada, he added.

Muslims in large numbers, ministers, legislators and leaders joined the Iftar programme. Later, Naidu participated in Magrib Namaz and Dua.
