HYDERABAD: China seems to have become the most preferred country for the Andhra Pradesh government to make attempts to woo investors as well as to send ministers and officials on study tours. For procuring motors for the Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme, study of planned cities for taking up Amaravati construction, marketing of red sanders logs and other things, China has become the most preferred destination for the state government. So far, half a dozen ministers and about 30 officials have visited the nation in the last two years.
In order to reach out to the maximum number of potential purchasers in China, the state forest department is planning to set up a ‘special desk’ in Beijing to aggressively market red sanders logs in China where there is an enormous demand for the precious sandalwood.
