Six Bangaloreans Killed Enroute to Tirupati in a Road Accident in Chittoor

TIRUPATI: Six persons were killed and seven others suffered grievous injuries when the Toofan SUV in which they were traveling collided a lorry on Chittoor-Naidupet National Highway near Chandragiri fort in Chittoor district on Tuesday early hours.

According to Chandragiri police, as many as 15 persons belonging to Yelahanka of Bengaluru city had started their journey to Tirumala Tirupati temple at around 11pm on Monday.

When the vehicle reached Chandragiri fort on the wee hours of Tuesday, it collided a lorry coming in the opposition direction, leaving six persons spot dead.

Another seven persons were brutally injured were shifted to RUIA Hospital in Tirupati by 108 ambulance service.

The deceased were identified as Suresh, Suja, Parvatamma, Ramya, Gouramma, SUV driver Kiran, all residents of  Yelahanka. The driver of the lorry was also suffered severe injuries.

According to eye witnesses, the accident was caused as the SUV was over speeding. Chandragiri police have registered a case and are investigating into it.
