VIJAYAWADA: Taking exception to the criticism being levelled by the YSRC leaders and activists against the renovated residence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad, Water Resources Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao said CM’s house was genuine unlike YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Launching a broadside against the critics of the Chief Minister, Devineni drew comparison of the houses of both the leaders using the statistics provided by TDP’s Knowledge Centre.
Devineni said that while Naidu’s house has eight rooms, Jagan’s Lotus Pond residence has 70 rooms. The CM’s renovated residence has no helipads, no swimming pool, no mini theatres and no escalators, while Jagan’s house has two helipads, three swimming pools, 10 lifts, two mini theatres with a seating capacity for 200 persons and four escalators.
Naidu’s family consists of five, while Jagan’s family consists of four. “Should small family of Jagan have 3 lakh sq ft house?” the minister demanded to know.
He further said, while the Chief Minister’s Hyderabad residence has all the required permissions, Jagan’s residence was constructed against rules as proved by the CBI.
Devineni who said YSRC chief had built his house with ill-gotten money and Lotus Pond was constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore, failed to mention the cost of the construction of the renovated house of Naidu. “You will know later,” was all he said.
Asked why he or other ministers close to Chief Minister Chadrababu Naidu had not participated in the house warming party in Hyderabad, he said it was a low key affair limited only to few family members and relatives.
