VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam ministers continued to slam Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for his incendiary remarks on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the second day on Friday. Leading the TDP ministers was Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu who said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was losing his mental balance after realising that he would never be able to become the Chief Minister of the State.“Jagan Mohan Reddy with his comments that Naidu should be shot or should be hanged has brought disrepute to the democratic traditions of the great country.  He was living in a delusion that if he abused his rival, he would get more number of votes. Probably his political strategist Prashant Kishor might have advised him to do so but it would not work and, on the contrary, it might prove to be counter-productive,” Yanamala said.

He said since Jagan Mohan Reddy had admitted to saying that there was nothing wrong in shooting Chandrabababu Naidu, the Election Commission should take stern action against him.

Information and Public Relations Minister Kaluva Srinivasulu said that Jagan would never become the Chief Minister even if he did tapas standing on his head. He said that the voters in the constituency are blessing the TDP nominee and that his victory is a foregone conclusion. Srinivasulu added that about 120 YSRC leaders were camping in Nanydal and were terrorising voters.

Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that Jagan Mohan Reddy is not even heeding the advice of the Election Commission that one should exercise restraint while criticising others and should eschew from making personal attack. He said it appears that Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying to scare people and thus have the by-election postponed. In Vijayawada, Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao came down heavily on the Opposition Leader for making derogatory comments against the CM.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Rao said that Jagan was suffering with mental imbalance and his DNA has criminal nature.  “It’s not at all acceptable for an Opposition Leader to make derogatory comments on Chief Minister before the public. At least now, Jagan should stop commenting on Naidu or else people will teach his a lesson in the 2019 elections,” the HRD minister added.

Rao also took a dig at Kapu leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham over his ‘Padyatra’ and said that he was not the only representative for the Kapu community. “Naidu has implemented all the assured poll promises for the welfare of Kapus in the State. Moreover, based on the suggestions from the Manjunath Commission, Kapus will be included into Backward Classes,” he added.

TDP leaders Devineni Avinash and Kadiala Butchi Babu called on Director General Of Police and submitted a memorandum, asking him to initiate action against Jagan since they fear that the CM’s life is in danger. Since Jagan had a history of crime, action should be taken, they said.

Ministers seek action against Jagan

After the YSRC chief’s derogatory remarks against the Chief Minister, his cabinet colleagues demand action against the Leader of the Opposition.

"The opposition leader should undergo treatment at a mental hospital in Visakhapatnam. The people of Vizag are even ready to fund Jagan’s recovery ", Ganta Srinivasa Rao, HRD Minister.

"Election Commission should take stern action against the YSRC President. Any delay in action
will only embolden him", Yanamala Ramakrishnudu,  Finance Minister.

‘Naidu’s life in danger’

TDP leaders Devineni Avinash and Kadiala Butchi Babu called on the DGP and submitted a complaint, seeking action against Jagan since they fear that “Chandrababu’s life is in danger.”
