Local body chief quits, alleges harassment by MLA

Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar has once again found himself in the news for the wrong reasons.

ELURU: Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar has once again found himself in the news for the wrong reasons. Eluru Mandal Parishad president Reddy Anuradha tendered her resignation on Tuesday, alleging that the TDP legislator had been harassing her and her husband so that he could replace her with his aide.

Anuradha said that before the Assembly elections, then Eluru MLA Badeti Kota Ramarao alias Bujji had helped them win the MPP president’s post. “But after the elections, Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar started using his influence to force us to quit.

Following the intervention of MLA Bujji, I had agreed to quit after two-and-a-half years. Yet, Prabhakar did not allow me to perform my duties peacefully. Instead, he had been obstructing development works,” Anuradha and her husband Reddy Appalamaidu alleged.
