200 kg ganja seized in Vizag Agency

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam Rural police recovered 200 kg of ganja from seven persons, which they were trying to transport to Maharashtra at Modakondamma Padalu area of Hukumpeta police station limits on Wednesday.

Among the seven arrested, six hail from Warangal of Telangana and one is from Maharashtra.
According to Hukumpeta sub-inspector B Naga Karthik, on a tip-off they have intercepted the accused at around 6 am on Wednesday.

They were transporting the contraband in two cars and a biker was moving ahead as a pilot to alert  the accused if there was any checkings.

Police said that the Maharashtrian with the help of six persons had come to Paderu region, from where they  procured the weed.

The police have seized the cars and motorcycle and mobile phones. A case has been registered in the Hukumpeta police station.
