RINL’s Gyan Era project bags national e-Governance award

The system has been developed and deployed in house by the team of Information Technology and Technical Training Institute.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has been awarded National e-Governance award in silver category for the project Gyan Era - E-learning management system for Innovative Use of ICT by the Central PSUs for 2015-16.

The award was received by KVSS Rajeswara Rao, GM (IT&ERP) of Vizag Steel Plant, from Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology PP Chaudhary, during the valedictory of 20th national conference on e-Governance held in the city on Tuesday. On the occasion, RINL CMD P Madhusudan said that Gyan Era provides an integrated platform for online learning coupled with the facility of knowledge sharing by collaborating, thus fostering a culture of mass training in the organisation.

“It also provides the management a comprehensive and effective tool to track the training performance of employees in the organisation,” the CMD said. The system has been developed and deployed in house by the team of Information Technology and Technical Training Institute.
