VIJAYAWADA: Kumi Umi Asset Management Company (KUAMC) has expressed willingness to explore opportunities in development of Tirupati, expanding eastwards.

Yasuyo Yamazaki of KUAMC, in a discussion with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Davos, said they were interested in Tirupati since they had experience in developing Varanasi, a temple town in India. The KUAMC also said it wants to invest in sectors including housing, employment and agriculture.

He said he could involve a consortium of Japanese companies which could invest up to US $15 to $20 billion. Impressed by the presentation, Naidu asked them to come up with a clear road map.
