VISAKHAPATNAM: In a bid to provide a platform to the aspiring entrepreneurs, students and professionals, Junior Chamber International (JCI) has come up with a monthly interactive session called ‘Vizag Speaks’.

The sessions will have speakers from various walks of life and achievers in their respective fields who will share their experiences and answer queries.

It is a platform for citizens to come to know of new ideas and concepts, get an insight into what is happening in the city and also interact with achievers and work together for a better future.

The interactive session was initiated on Sunday. In this session Priya Vinjamuri, Jao On Kwong, M Jyothirmayi and Tripta Kaur were the guest speakers from different backgrounds and spoke on sustainable environment and smart cities, Sustainable business, wellness and volunteering and role of a citizen.

“If you really want to be helpful to the city then the best way is volunteering. There are online portals where the events are mentioned and need volunteers. One can simply log into portals,” said M Jyothirmayi.

The speakers focused on various aspects of sustainability like environment, business and civic management. They highlighted the importance of wellness of physical and mental health as well as the role of citizen in making a city smart.

During the session, many entrepreneurs and students had queries to the speakers regarding the measures that have to be taken for the sustainability of the business and best business that one should think of starting at the present time while the city is developing.

“The idea is to come up with different topics every time. Our first session mainly focused on sustainability and we will come up with different concepts every month. There are many people in the city who have really done  well in their fields but not everyone has exposure and they do not know many people. So we are trying to unite all,” said S Ravikanth Reddy, the president JCI Vizag.

Besides reaching out to local audience, the initiative aims at highlighting various concepts to an international platform as ‘Vizag Speaks’ can be viewed online, through JCI Vizag YouTube channel.
