Middle aged woman in Visakhapatnam held for 41 burglaries

Police said a middle-aged woman was arrested today for her alleged involvement in 41 burglaries in Visakhapatnam.

VISAKHAPATNAM: A middle-aged woman was arrested today for her alleged involvement in 41 burglaries in Vizag city, Vizianagaram and East Godavari districts, police said.
    
"500 gm of gold ornaments have been recovered from her possession and investigation is on to recover 2.5 kgs of gold from her accomplices," said police.
    
The 40-year-old lady is a resident of Kancharapalem in Vizag city. She was earlier arrested in 2013, said police.
    
She is allegedly involved in property offences, immoral trafficking of women and peddling of narcotics, said police.
    
City Police Commissioner F T Yoganand said the accused woman is a school dropout and is active in Vizag, Vizianagaram, East Godavari and West Godavari districts.
    
A total of 17 non-bailable warrants were pending against her and she was listed under dossier criminal at Kancharapalem Police Station limits.
    
"The lady has confessed that she took to crime for easy money to meet her luxurious lifestyle. We are investigating the case to nab few others and to recover some more gold ornaments from her gang," the official added.
    
Her children are pursuing engineering in reputed colleges in the city.
