Two tahsildars, VRO to face criminal action in land scam in Andhra Pradesh

GUNTUR: Vigilance and Enforcement Officer T Srinivasa Reddy who conducted an inquiry into illegal allotment of government land to a private individual by former tahsildars of Gurazala, has submitted his report to the State government. 

It was revealed in the inquiry that former tahsildars V Raghuram and T Praveen Kumar, in collusion with Village Revenue Officer M Koteswara Rao, illegally issued pattas for 56 acres of government land in Gurazala mandal in the name of R Sambaiah and his family members.

Following a complaint made by K Venkateswara Rao, a vigilance inquiry was ordered into the land scam. Another tahsildar who worked in Gurazala earlier, was also involved in it. Based on the report, District Collector Kantilal Dande recently suspended the two tahsildars and the VRO. 

Joint Collector M Venkateswara Rao was asked to conduct further inquiry into the land  scandal. Gurazala RDO E Murali said criminal cases would be filed against the two tahsildars, VRO, Sambaiah and his family members.
