Work progress hinges on govt aid: SCR GM

South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav met Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar at Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Monday and discussed the progress of various ongoing railway projects in the State.

VIJAYAWADA : South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav met Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar at Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Monday and discussed the progress of various ongoing railway projects in the State.


Vinod Kumar Yadav gave a detailed description of various ongoing railway projects which include new line projects, doubling/tripling of existing lines and development of Vijayawada Railway Station and Road Over Bridge (ROB)/Road Under Bridge (RUB) works in the State.

He also sought the support of the State government to take care of the issues concerning land acquisition for railway projects, including for the development of Tirupati Station. 


Earlier, the SCR General Manager inspected Electric Traction Training Centre (ETTC) at Satyanarayanapuram and inaugurated state-of-the-art ‘Loco Simulator’, which is used for training of loco pilots. He also released a manual concerning the Loco Train Driving Simulator and laid the foundation stone for augmenting the trainees’ hostel facilities at the ETTC.

Vinod Kumar Yadav also inspected Electric Loco Shed in Vijayawada and advised completion of the infrastructure augmentation works on priority basis. 


He also conducted a review meeting with all the branch officers of Vijayawada Division at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office.

The General Manager reviewed aspects related to safety, punctuality, progress of passenger amenity works and freight loading performance of the division.

Addressing the officials, he stressed that these priority areas should meet total attention so that the performance of SCR scales to the highest level. R Dhanunjayulu, Divisional Railway Manager of Vijayawada was also present.
