Six killed as Bolero collides with lorry in Guntur

In a ghastly road mishap, six persons were killed on Guntur-Kurnool State highway at Bhiminenivaripalem in Medikonduru mandal.

GUNTUR: In a ghastly road mishap, six persons were killed on Guntur-Kurnool State highway at Bhiminenivaripalem in Medikonduru mandal on Thursday night. 


According to the police, a group of men belonging to Old Guntur attended a marriage at Rentachintala on Thursday. Four of them are relatives. 


After the end of the marriage, they left for Guntur in a Bolero. It collided head-on with a lorry at Bhiminenivaripalem, killing all the occupants.

The victims included Posa Venkata Narayana Rao (48), Mupuri Srinivasa Rao (32), Sukhamanchi Raghavendra Rao (55), Madasu Raja Rao, Dasari Kiran (47) and Venkata Subba Reddy (47). The first four victims are relatives. 


The lorry was going towards Sattenapalli from Guntur when the mishap occurred. The Bolero vehicle was completely damaged in the mishap. The bodies were shifted to Guntur government hospital for postmortem.  Medikonduru SI D Praveen registered a case. 


Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa, Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas and Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Nara Lokesh expressed grief over the ghastly mishap.
