GUNTUR: Devotees in large numbers thronged temples and took holy dip in the Krishna river and the Bay of Bengal on the occasion of Karthika Pournami on Saturday. Thousands of devotees offered special prayers at Kotappakonda, Pedakakani, Amaralingeswara Swamy Cave Temple at Daida, Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Mangalagiri and Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Vykuntapuram.
The devotees took a holy dip at Suryalanka Beach in the wee hours of Saturday. The priests offered Ratna Garbha Sagara Haarathi and Deeparadhana to the Bay of Bengal. MLC A Satish Prabhakar and others took part in the Karthika Pournami festivities.
