Five-member blade batch arrested

The Guntur police arrested five-member inter-district blade batch, belonging to Krishna and Guntur districts, on Sunday.

GUNYUR: The Guntur police arrested five-member inter-district blade batch, belonging to Krishna and Guntur districts, on Sunday. The police recovered two laptops, four motorcycles and ganja from their possession. Search is on for three other accused.  

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Guntur Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao said the blade batch was involved in highway robberies, murders and dacoities.

The SP said on receipt of complaints against the blade batch, the Pedakakani police launched search operations at Nambur and found five members of the blade batch in a farm land behind a wine shop. The police took them into custody with the cooperation of Guntur CCS police.

The arrested were identified as Konda Yehova of Fraserpeta, Tummala Rajesh of Satyanarayanapuram, Devarakonda Nagaraju of Vysya Colony, Golla Venkatesh of Mallikarjunapeta, all from Vijayawada and Pedda Chicha of Chejerla in Nakarikallu mandal and Sk Naseeruddin of Tadepalli in Guntur district.
The blade batch was involved in the murder of a person at Kankaragunta Bridge in Pattabhipuram of Guntur, three highway robberies, one murder attempt and one motorcycle theft case in Pedakakani,” Vijaya Rao said.

The SP said the accused were also involved in a theft at the Mee Seva centre at R Agraharam in Guntur, theft in a shop at Challavaripalem in Nallapadu of Guntur, attempt to murder and robbing at Tadepalli.
The SP further said that they had booked a mobile snatching case in Tullur of Amaravati, robbery in a temple at Ibrahimpatnam in Krishna district and a bike theft at Ajit Singh Nagar in Vijayawada.

The SP stated that the blade batch used to deposit the booty with Tummala Manoj alias Mana, Md Akhtar and Swamy alias Byragi and launched a manhunt to nab three other accused.
Vijaya Rao appreciated the police team for nabbing the blade batch.
