V-P, Naidu to inaugurate VIT building 

VIJAYAWADA: Vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the newly-constructed building of VIT University- Amaravathi campus on November 28.Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University Vice-president Sekhar Viswanathan said that the Vice-president and the Chief Minister would inaugurate the newly constructed two blocks, which were named after as Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Academic block and Sarojini Naidu hostel block, at 10:30 am on November 28 

He said that the state government had allocated 200 acres of land for the VIT University campus in Amaravati and two kilometers away from the Secretariat complex. He also described the inauguration of VIT campus in AP as a landmark not only in the VIT history but also AP history as VIT is the first private University to come up in the capital Amaravati. 

Viswanathan also said that 630 students from 24 states were pursing higher education at the VIT Amaravati campus. Vice-chancellor Dr. Sudhakar said that the key features of the VIT University Amaravati campus were including application oriented academics, engineering clinics to implement and innovate and also mandatory internship experience in the industry. He also said the VIT University had adopted three villages Sekhamuru, Ainavole and Velagapuri to take up development activities.
