Andhra ACB officials produce Town planner Venkata Raghu in Visakhapatnam court

Venkata Raghu was arrested in Vijayawada on Monday on charges of corruption.

VIJAYAWADA: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials of Andhra Pradesh produced Town and Country Planning director G Venkata Raghu in a court in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday evening a day after detecting illegal assets in his and his relatives’ possession with a market value topping Rs 500 crore.

He was arrested in Vijayawada on Monday on charges of corruption.

The anti-graft officials are also investigating the assets held by Nalluri Venkata Siva Prasad, the main proxy of Raghu, from whose house they recovered gold, diamonds and property documents worth several crore rupees.

Prasad and his wife Ch Gayatri were arrested and produced in a special ACB court in Vijayawada. They were remanded in 14 days judicial custody.
