KADAPA: The police and forest officials arrested seven of the 11 escaped red sanders woodcutters and continued the search for others.

DFO N Khadar Vali in a press meet said three days ago, the forest officials had arrested 11 red sanders woodcutters at Rollamadugu Forest Area and seized 45 logs worth Rs 5 lakh.

The 11 arrested labourers were detained in the guard room at the Forest Office in Rajampet. On Friday, they escaped from window. The DFO said that the police and forest officials launched a search for the escapee.  

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a search on Chennai-Mumbai Express Train. Three were arrested in the train at Railway Koduru. Four of them alighted the train while it was running and fled.  The officials alerted Renigunta police, who arrested the four fugitives.
