GUNTUR: A man tried to kill his wife by setting her on fire at Madala of Muppalla village on Sunday evening.
Sub Inspector D Ramesh the incident came to light after the woman’s relatives lodged a police complaint on Monday. “The accused, identified as Sk Ilyas, had disputes with his wife Mastanbi. To resolve the issue, her father and other relatives had arrived near Narasaraopet to talk to the couple,” he said.
However, unable to find a solution, the relatives expressed their desire to go back to Bellamkonda, which was their native. Midway, the accused stopped their vehicle at Madla and made a sudden attack on them. During the scuffle, he poured petrol on his wife.
