VIJAYAWADA: A delegation of YSRC leaders will meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday seeking a  third-party inquiry into the “murder attempt” on Leader of the Opposition and YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The two Rajya Sabha MPs of the party — V Vijaya Sai Reddy and Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy — and the former MPs will meet Singh at the latter’s residence in New Delhi on Monday morning.

Apart from giving details of the attack, the YSRC delegation will also urge the Centre to order a probe by a Central agency into the attack. The Opposition party has been maintaining that it does not have trust in the AP government.

Owaisi meets Jagan, targets Naidu

MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday met Jagan Mohan Reddy in Hyderabad. Speaking to the media later, Owaisi wondered as to how a person can sneak into the high-security area with a knife. “The manner in which CM Chandrababu Naidu reacted to the attack is deplorable. Political differences will always be there, but Naidu should have at least called Jagan over phone to enquire about his health,’’ Owaisi felt. Advising Jagan to be cautious in the future, Owaisi said the responsibility of providing proper security to the Leader of the Opposition lies on the State government.
