SHIMOGA: At present there was no proposal before the government to hike power tariff, said Power Minister K S Eshwarappa.
Talking to reporters here on Friday, he said that it was already discussed with the Cabinet Sub-Committee and decided not to hike power tariff this year. So there was no question of hiking power tariff at present, he added.
In coming days, steps would be taken to ensure regular power supply, he added.
To fill the vacancies in the department, 1,000 engineers would be appointed shortly.
Besides this, the service of around 4,000 linemen would be regularised, he added.
