BANGALORE: JD(S) floor leader in the Assembly HD Revanna has accused industries minister Murugesh Nirani of indulging in corruption through his personal assistant and demanded that he be sacked from the ministry.

At a press meet on Tuesday, Revanna played a fourminute video clipping to buttress his claim that Nirani's PA, Umesh, had demanded `20 lakh from an entrepreneur for allotting an industrial estate at Harohalli.

"The video was shot with a hidden camera at Nirani's residence. The footage clearly shows Umesh receiving `1 lakh from the entrepreneur, who is actually a decoy," Revanna said.

In a, rather blur image, the footage also shows Nirani telling the decoy that Umesh's words are final. "This is nothing but a clear evidence of the minister's involvement in corruption. I urge the Governor to dismiss the BJP government," Revanna said.

Revanna, however, could not say as to when exactly the video was shot and where, as Nirani is seen in two different sets of clothes in the video footage. "These are all confidential issues which cannot be revealed," he said, while speaking to Express after the press conference.

He said the government had betrayed thousands of farmers by taking away their land for industrial purposes. "Not a single acre of land has been given for industrial purposes. All talk of Global Investors Meet is an attempt to fool the people," he said.
