Official’s property seized

The Lokayukta police on Tuesday recovered movable and unmovable properties worth Rs 2.59 crore, including Rs 1.31 crore cash, belonging to Bangalore District Registrar Boraiah, from the premises of two of his close aides on Tuesday.

The Davangere DySP recovered the properties from Baligara Chandrappa R Mallareddy and Shrihari of Hadadi village. A case was registered against them. Later, investigations revealed that the seized properties and cash belonged to  Boraiah, who works in Jayanagar in Bangalore, following which the Lokayukta police registered a disproportionate assets case against the accused.

The seized assets include documents of several land sites measuring a total of over 48 acres, a farm house and 13 poultry farms at Hadadi village, 13 acres at Kallenahalll village, and sites and buildings in Davanagere, and two vehicles.

Apart from these properties, the police also seized 270 grams of gold ornaments and silver articles from the duo.
