BSR-Congress core meet held in Bangalore

The core committee of Bellary Rural MLA B Sriramulu’s political outift BSR Congress was held here on Monday.

Sriramulu addressed newsmen here on Monday that the prevailing political scenario in the state was reviewed at the meeting held at the party’s headquarters here. Former legislator Shiraj Shaikh and party’s state women unit chief Rakshitha Prem too attended the meet.  “The committee has resolved to submit a report card on the prevailing drought in the state and the measures taken by the government to mitigate it,” he said.

Charging the BJP of ignoring the needs of the people, Sriramulu added that his party will submit a memorandum to the government and meet the Governor over the issue.

“A party delegation will soon meet the CM and present a memorandum to him seeking expedition of drought relief works.” 

Demand for Party Recognition

He said he would appeal to Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah for recognition of BSR Congress and space for him in the front row of the opposition benches in the Legislative Assembly.

Meanwhile, Sriramulu said that to highlight the necessity of desilting the Tungabhadra Reservoir he will stage a dharna near the dam site on July 8 and 9; over one lakh farmers will participate in the same.
