BANGALORE: The passport aspirants can know the status of their applications on the official website of the Bangalore City Police www.bcp.gov.in - under Police Passport Seva Kendra section.
The 15-digit bar code file number of passport applications received up to April 26 have been published on the website along with the particulars of date of download and despatched to the regional passport office online after scrutiny. The status will be uploaded on a day-to-day basis, according to a press communique from the Regional Passport office.
The passport section of the city special branch working under the Commissioner of Police, Bangalore city, received 3,24,165 applications. on an average 900 passport applications are downloaded a day online. The city police have sorted applications division-wise and sent to their 103 stations through intranet. The rules say that the details furnished in the Seva Kendra should match during police verification, otherwise the application will be considered as false, the Regional Passport Office said.
