BANGALORE: Reacting to the incident of the state BJP website being hacked, Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda told Express that he was unaware of this hack. “I will look into the matter,” assured Gowda.

While many BJP officials, who were shocked after clicking on their party’s homepage believed that the morals of the BJP party were compromised and attacked, others said they would urge the party heads to take action immediately and save themselves online embarrassment. Experts from the Cyber Security Response Team said, “We have given the BBMP, whose site was also hacked last week, technical feedback. The hackers in this case have hacked only one page of the BJP website. As soon as someone clicks on the site, they are directed to another page, which in this case is a viagra advertisement and an online medical store,” said Shubha Mangala Sunil, founder chairperson of Cyber Security Response Team.

Sunil said the IP address of the hacker has been traced to an Indian city.
