BANGALORE: The High Court on Monday again directed the state to announce the minimum support price (MSP) for mango.
It directed the state to submit a action plan report within a week in connection with the PIL filed by Kolar District Mango Growers and Farmers Association, which sought regulation of APMC markets in Srinivasapur, Chikballapur, Bangalore and Ramanagaram.
Principal secretary to cooperatives said, “Production of mangoes is less and its cost is high. The horticulture department fixes price and we just do examination. The government has sanctioned `84 lakh for development of Kolar APMC market.”
A HC bench said the administration should work for the benefit of farmers. ;
