BMTF up against Ashok

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister R Ashok is in trouble again as the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) has filed an FIR against him and 21 others. Ashoka has been charged of sanctioning 56 acres of ‘bagar hukum’ land in Bangalore South taluk flouting norms.

G Honnanjappa, a resident of Hesaraghatta, had filed a private complaint at the CMM court alleging irregularities in sanctioning of government land. The court directed the BMTF to investigate the case. Accordingly, the BMTF officials have registered the FIR .

It is alleged that when Ashok was the chairman of Bagar Hukum Committee, he had sanctioned government lands at Utthari, B M Kaval and Agara villages to those who were not eligible for the same. The other accused in the case are charged for getting the land by producing fake documents.

The FIR has been filed under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating), 468, 471 of the IPC besides 13(1) and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Acts.
