Cinematographer Sundarnath Suvarna died at his residence in Hanumanthanagar on Tuesday.

He was 60. He was suffering from cancer and was under palliative care.

His last rites will held in Mangalore on Wednesday.

Suvarna began his career as a cinematographer with Apooropada Athithigalu and went on to work in more than 150 Kannada films, including Agni Parva, Tamassu, Sri Manjunatha, Amruthavarshini, Anuraga Sangama, Nammoora Mandara Hoove, Indradhanush, Anjadiru, Lock-up Death, Gandugali Kumararama and Golibar.

The State government had felicitated him with the Rajyotsava award recently.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has condoled the death of Suvarna.
