The Congress, which has determined to increase its tally in the Lok Sabha in the next General Election, is reportedly looking to field some new faces from various fields.
According to sources, the party high command has directed the KPCC to look for prominent personalities who can join the party and become its nominees to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha election.”
“There is a move to field about 10 new prominent persons to stem anti-incumbancy factor against the UPA government at the Centre, if any,” a party leader told Express.
Meanwhile, KPCC President G Parameshwara has convened a meeting of the State office-bearers in the last week of this month to discuss the reports of the party’s observers to decide on the candidates.
The KPCC has received its observers’ reports from most Lok Sabha constituencies. Among these, four or five names have been recommended for consideration of the party tickets, the sources added.
