CRPF cop killed in naxal attack

Manjunath Ishwargouda Mudukangoudar, a constable attached to 85 Batallion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), was killed in Bijapur in Chhattisgarh in a naxal attack. He hailed from Bailwad village in the district.

DIG of CRPF, Belgaum, said Manjunath  (28), who along with his team, was fighting the naxalites in the thick forests of Bijapur on August 5 when they shot at him. He had joined the CRPF seven years ago. He was the only son of his parents. He married a year go and his wife is expecting a child soon. He had visited his family in June, his close friends said. His body would be brought to his village at 9.30 am on Thursday. The funeral would be held in the presence of civil dignitaries and police officers with guard of honour.
