There are a slew of measures for the development of smaller towns and villages, including a scheme to bear the education fee of flood/drought-hit farmers and labourers.

A subsidy scheme will be prepared to encourage construction of godowns and cold storage units in the towns adjoining agricultural markets.

Unit subsidy for beneficiaries of the Basava Vasati Yojane, Ambedkar Vasthi Yojane, Vajpayee Nagara Vasthi Yojane and Indira Awas Yojane would be increased from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh.

Two Karnataka-German Multi-skill Development Centres would be started in Mysore and Bellary districts in the state with partial Central funding.
